District Attorney Thomas Spota Refuses to Testify in Front of Suffolk County Public Safety Committee

SpotaDistrict Attorney Thomas Spota was asked by the Suffolk County Public Safety committee head Kate Browning to testify this Thursday June 16, 2016 in front of the committee. Browning stated in her letter that media reports from Newsday have stated that Spota and Bureau Chief McPartland are subject of a federal grand jury. “The accusations and allegations pertaining to the district attorney’s office have gone on for too long,” Browning Said. County Executive Bellone on May 12, 2016 asked for Spota to step down.

Thomas Spota has responded with the following letter to Legislature Brown, Spota states he can not testify because of an US Attorney’s Investigation.  (See below).
