Arrest Made in Sarah Strobel Murder from October 3, 2013

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of Sarah Strobel, 23, of 11 East 6th St., Huntington Stationa whose body was found in a Huntington nature preserve located on West Rouges Path.

Police responded to the Froehlich Farm Nature Preserve after a person walking on a path noticed the body of an adult female off to the side of the path at 8:50 a.m.October 3, 2013. The woman, Sarah Strobel, was pronounced dead at the scene and her body will be transported to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed.

Sarah Strobel’s murderer was arrested yesterday June 14,2016 at Mohawk Correctional Facility located in Rome, NY.

Fernando Romualdo, aged 28 of 16 2nd Ave., Huntington Station was arrested May 14, 2015 for RAPE-1ST and FORCIBLE COMPULSION.

Detective Balistreri lead the investigation that lead to the arrest of Fernando Romualdo. Romualdo has been arraigned and is currently being held without bail at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverhead.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
