Kids Join Forces to Display Thousands of Quarters Collected to Benefit Special Needs Children

$4,000 Collected for Smile for a Mile Campaign

Thousands of quarters were spread out to display the funds collected on behalf of special needs children for the Smile for a Mile campaign. Young members of The Chai Center’s Hebrew School and CTeen programs, ages 8 to 17-years-old, spent the last several months raising money to help special needs children by collecting enough quarters to stretch out for a mile or more.

More than $4,000 was raised with all proceeds to benefit The Friendship Circle and special needs children and fund programs such as Bowling Buddies, Pet Therapy, Friends @ Home and holiday events. The Chai Center Friendship Circle’s unique approach brings together teenage volunteers and children with special needs for hours of fun and friendship. These shared experiences empower children with special needs, while enriching the lives of everyone involved.
