11 Dogs Rescued From Baku Are Available Now For Adoption At Little Shelter

The Baku dogs arrived to Little Shelter on June 25th after flying from Baku to New York. There were tears of joy as the rescuers from Baku Street Dog Rescue saw the Little Shelter staff waiting at the shelter gates for their arrival. Baku, is a place where the stray dog population is so bad that the government has taken to mass extermination as a means of population control. This includes beating, shooting, poisoning and burning dogs that are sometimes still alive. Rescue groups in Baku and internationally have stepped in to help these dogs get to places of safety.

Each dog came in with it’s own puppy passport and is fully vaccinated, chipped and scheduled to be fixed. The pups range in age from about 3 months to 2 years old and are all different in colors and sizes. All the Baku dogs are exceptionally friendly and love to meet new people and play. Given the unique looks of each puppy and their wonderful disposition, we do not expect the dogs to be at the shelter long. If you have been looking for a new furry family member, you will not want to miss meeting the Baku dogs.
