Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia was recently honored by the members of the St. Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Shrine Church of Greenlawn during the Church’s annual Golf Classic held at the Brookville Country Club.
Jo-Ann received, on behalf of the Church community, a framed image of the iconography on the Church’s dome. The image depicts the Seven Days of Creation, the Twelve Prophets and the Preparation of the Throne of Christ. This is 1 of 51 copies in existence of its kind signed by the artist George K. Filippakis. It was dedicated on July 14, 2002 by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Church of America.
Jo-Ann was recognized for her many years of service to the Greek community. As an Honorary Koumbara, Jo-Ann was also presented with a bouquet of red roses from James) Andreadis on behalf of the Church’s Koumbaro Club. New York State Assembly Citations were presented to Jo-Ann by Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci and her son Assemblyman Andrew Raia.
