Catering Truck Crashes on Vanderbilt Parkway

The Dix Hills Fire Department responded to a crash involving a catering truck that struck a tree on Vanderbilt Parkway near Highfield Drive on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at about 11:40 a.m. Firefighters extinguished a small fire in the engine compartment of the truck that was heavily damaged. The driver was not reported injured and declined medical assistance. Two Dix Hills fire engines, an ambulance, paramedic and first responder units were dispatched, under the direction of Chief Robert Fling.
