Eight People Arrested at Sobriety Checkpoint at LIRR Parking Lot, Route 110 at Church St., Huntington Station

dwicheckSuffolk County Police have arrested eight people and seized two vehicles during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Huntington Station on Friday September 2, 2016.

Police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department Highway Patrol Bureau, assisted by officers from the MTA Police, conducted a sobriety checkpoint at the Long Island Railroad parking lot, located at Route 110 at Church Street.  The operation was conducted as part of the continuing Labor Day holiday enforcement efforts for the prevention of injuries and fatalities associated with driving while ability impaired by alcohol and drugs.  A total of 563 vehicles went through the checkpoint.

 

The following people were charged with Driving While Intoxicated:

  • Michael Puzzico, 53, of 881 Quiet Meadow Ct., Westminster, MD
  • Howard Wright, 32, of 607 Station Way, Huntington Station
  • Kevin Hewson, 33, of 1054 Jackson St., Baldwin
  • Andrew Pohalski, 47, of 105 Round Swamp Road., Huntington
  • Ashley Jimenez, 30, of 48 Giant Oak Road., Ridge
  • Jason Klingel, 33, of 1665 Louis Kossuth, Bohemia
  • Pierre Delva, 30, of 15 Monaton Dr., Huntington Station

 

The following person was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol and Drugs:

 

  • Justin Manfredonia, 32, of 138 High Ave., Nyack

All eight have be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.

 

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
