The Huntington Manor Fire Department and Suffolk Police responded to a crash and fire on Chichester Road near Sweet Hollow Road in West Hills on Sunday night, September 4, 2016, at about 11:25 p.m. The driver and passenger were able to escape after their car crashed into a tree and burst into flames. Huntington Manor firefighters extinguished the blaze which destroyed the car. The two occupants, a male and female, were taken to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad with non-life threatening injuries. About 20 firefighters were on the scene with four trucks, under the direction of Assistant Chiefs Mike DePasquale, Jon Hoffmann and Chuck Brady.
