Pedestrian Critically Injured in Melville Motor Vehicle Crash

rt110_spagnoliSuffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Melville this morning.

Maurice White was driving a 2012 Mercedes Benz southbound on Route 110 when his vehicle struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross Route 110 at the intersection of Spagnoli Road at approximately 1:05 a.m. Friday September 16, 2016.

The pedestrian, John Erickson, 43, of Mount Sinai, was airlifted via Suffolk County Police helicopter in critical condition to Stony Brook University Hospital.  White, 46, of Massapequa, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
