A call to 911 at approximately 11:49am today December 10, 2016 revealed that a driver of a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck, James A. Burke, left East 3rd street, into a fence plowing into a home at 36 east 3rd street in Huntington Station.
Burke, 76, of 10 Margo Lane, Huntington, was transported to Huntington Hospital by Huntington Community First Aid Squad where he was pronounced dead. It is believed that Burke may have suffered a medical event. The actual cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, police at this time believe was from natural causes.
No further information is available at this time. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
