Teen Assaulted While Playing Soccer Next to Avalon Bay Community

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating an assault during which a teenager wasCrime Report, Huntington NY Crime injured in Huntington Station this afternoon.

A 16-year-old male was playing soccer at Manor Field Park, located on East 5th Street, next to the Avalon Bay Community at 2:22 p.m. when he was approached by a group of males  who engaged him in conversation then stabbed him about his body, this attack is possibly gang related..  The group fled towards Lennox Rd.  The victim was transported to Huntington Hospital for his injuries.  Witnesses at the scene said the subjects had their faces covered.  K-9 responded but was unable to locate the suspects.  This is still an active investigation and if anyone can help the police please call 631-854-8254.

The victim was transported by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad to Huntington Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the assault to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.


In other police news over the weekend around the 5 corners area. Police and Ambulance were called 5 times to the area for the following, 2 car accidents both drivers intoxicated one on 11th Ave and one on New York Ave and West 15th st . We also had a drunk fall off his bicycle on East 12th and 1st Ave who claims he was hit by a car and the car fled however there was zero evidence of that.  And there was another assault in the same area around 5 corners.

1st there was a car accident at 76 11th Ave. on 1/22/17.  A male driver hit a parked car.  Police responded and observed the driver to be intoxicated, arrested him, and charged him with DWI.

2nd there was another accident on NY and 15th on 1/22/17.  A male was in a car accident at that location.  Again police responded and observed the subject to be intoxicated and arrested him for DWI.

3rd regarding the male falling off the bike on 1/22/17.  Police handled this as an aided case as the male was intoxicated, fell off his bike and hit his head.  He was transported to Huntington Hospital.

4th on 1/22/17 a known male assaulted another male in the vicinity of all weather tires.  The male was treated for a bruised head and sprained ankle at Huntington Hospital.  This is still an active investigation, any information please call the police at 631-854-8252.
