The Melville Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Saturday morning, February 5, 2017 on Broad Hollow Road (Route 110) near Duryea Road. About 20 firefighters and rescue personnel responded with three ambulances, rescue engine, heavy rescue truck, paramedic unit and fire police, under the direction of First Assistant Chief Chris Nolan. The Melville Rescue Squad transported four injured patients to Plainview Hospital.
