Councilwoman Tracey Edwards, the Town of Huntington Women’s Services and Huntington Hospital Northwell Health are proud to announce our second Women’s Health Empowerment Series. On Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at 7pm at Huntington Town Hall we will present “Women’s Heart Health”.
“Huntington Hospital continues to reach out to the community with a focus on health education,” said Gerard Brogan, Jr., MD, executive director of Huntington Hospital. “During February Heart Health month, the hospital will partner with the Town of Huntington again for a Women’s Heart Health event. The evening will focus on the importance of prevention, risk factors, treatment options, and all topics relating to cardiac health. We invite the community to join us.”
Topics will include preventative screening exams, risk assessments, symptoms, nutrition and exercise. Our panel will also discuss treatment options after diagnosis for women and men with heart disease.
We have put together a panel of wonderful Doctors, Nurses, and other experts who will be sharing critical information to empower women. Women’s heart issues are very unique and much different than men so they often go unnoticed until it is too late. We hope to educate women with the warning signs so we can save lives, said Councilwoman Edwards. I am grateful to Huntington Hospital Northwell Health for this partnership.
