South Huntington Man Partially Severs Hand in Saw Accident

The Huntington Community First Aid Squad, Huntington Manor Fire Department and Suffolk Police teamed up to assist a 40-year-man whose hand was partially severed while operating a power saw on Saturday morning, September 9, 2017, at about 9:45 a.m., at a home on Floral Avenue in South Huntington.

The victim was using the miniature circular saw to trim a shrub when the accident occurred. The patient was treated by Huntington Community and Suffolk Police Emergency Medical technicians, and was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital by Suffolk Police Medivac. The helicopter landed at the Countrywood Primary School on Old Country Road, where the patient was taken by Huntington Community ambulance and a Huntington Manor fire engine crew assisted.
