Huntington Community First Aid Squad Honored by Suffolk Regional Emergency Medical Services Council

The Huntington Community First Aid Squad (HCFAS) and three of its members will be recognized Saturday, June 12, 2021 by the Suffolk County Emergency Medical Services Council (REMSCO). The award ceremony will take place 10 AM at 2 Railroad Street, Huntington Station. These awards are for 2019 but presentation had been delayed because of the pandemic.

Huntington Community First Aid Squad has been named Agency of the Year.  Ex-Chief Michael Como will receive the EMS Leadership Award, John Mancino will be given the Advance Life Support (ALS) Provider of the Year Award and Elizabeth Mohr will be named the Registered Professional Nurse of Excellence.

 About Huntington Community First Aid Squad: Huntington Community First Aid Squad provides Advanced Life Support Ambulances and Emergency Medical Services to residents within the town of Huntington since 1967. Ambulance crews are ready to go 24/7, 365 days a year, to answer the call from neighbors in need. The Huntington Community Ambulance District covers an area from Lloyd Harbor and Lloyd Neck in the North – to Melville in the South and from the Nassau/Suffolk border and Cold Spring Harbor in the West – to Greenlawn and Dix Hills in the East. Over 280 volunteer members responded to more than 6000 calls in 2020
