Harborfields High School junior Nora Sweeney-Gladen’s “False Reflections” was recently selected for the 26th annual “Long Island’s Best: Young Artists at the Heckscher Museum” gallery show. This is the second year in a row that Sweeney-Gladen’s artwork has been chosen for this prestigious competition. Hundreds of works are submitted annually from schools across Nassau and Suffolk counties, with approximately 80 chosen for display in the museum.
Sweeney-Gladen attended the Long Island’s Best opening reception and awards ceremony at the museum on May 19, accompanied by art teacher Eugenia Ritter.
“It’s a really big deal,” Sweeney-Gladen said. “There are so many talented artists involved and I’m just so glad to be a part of it.”
The show will be on view through May 29.
