According to the Suffolk County Police Department a man went into the King Kullen located in Halesite at approximately 12:35 p.m. on Saturday January 31, 2015 and passed a note to an employee at the customer service area demanding money. The employee complied with the robber’s demand. The suspect fled in an unknown direction. K-9 and Aviation Section officers responded but the suspect was not found. 2nd Squad detectives are investigating. The suspect is described as a heavyset white man. He was wearing a ski hat with lime green stripes, a scarf over his face and a puffy white jacket. He did not display a weapon. No one was injured.
