Community First Aid Squad Seeks Prom Dresses

HUNTINGTON COMMUNITY FIRST AID SQUAD SEEKS PROM DRESSES –

POPULAR PROGRAM PROVIDES LOCAL YOUNG LADIES WITH SPECIAL ATTIRE

HCFAS Collecting Dresses for Long Island Volunteer Center’s 21^st Annual Prom Boutique

Huntington Community First Aid Squad invites the community to search their closets to find and donate gently-used, prom-appropriate dresses and gowns to help Long Island girls enjoy their Prom Night.

The Long Island Volunteer Center Prom Boutique is an annual event that HCFAS is supporting by soliciting and collecting the donated dresses. Donations will be accepted on March 9th, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. The address for drop-offs will be HCFAS Headquarters at 2 Railroad St, Huntington Station. The location is across from Huntington Railroad Station, on the opposite side of Route 110. Those who need to make alternate arrangements to donate may contact Pam Brenner or Martha Benner at hcfas1157@gmail.com.

In previous years approximately 1,500 local students were provided with dresses. When totaling all the expenses that a prom entails – a complete outfit, including dress, shoes, handbag, jewelry, make-up, transportation and other incidentals – the happy occasion can place a huge financial burden on a young woman’s family.

HCFAS volunteers Pam and Martha Brenner noted that the high school prom should be a happy, memory-making event in a young woman’s life and donating is a way for Huntingtonians to provide local students with a beautiful outfit that they might otherwise be unable to obtain.

The Long Island Prom Boutique is supported by many local businesses and organizations such as HCFAS who generously donate their time and resources to make the Prom Night a very special occasion that these girls will always remember.
