Students Inside Albany Program

The League of Women Voters of Huntington is proud to announce that  Julia Canigiani, Grace Dellaglio and Alexis Darrow, high school students, will be attending our Students Inside Albany Program. This is the fifteenth year that The League of Women Voters of New York State Education Foundation, Inc. has sponsored this program.

These students will join approximately sixty students from across the state as they experience first -hand the how their state government functions as well as the responsibilities and roles of their elected local representatives. The students will participate in interactive workshops on topics such as the state budget process, the role of lobbyists, the right to public access to government information, the role of media in politics and efforts to reform our state government. A tour of our states Capitol will take place. Most students will shadow their Senators and Assembly members for an afternoon as they attend a session on the Chamber floor.
