East Northport Woman Critically Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash

PoliceSuffolk County police detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a woman in Hauppauge on April 4, 2014.

Alyssa Leppert was driving a Chevy TrailBlazer erratically when a Third Precinct officer attempted to pull her over in a cul-de-sac on Kurt Lane at approximately 4:40 p.m. Leppert evaded the officer by driving on the lawns of multiple houses, to get back onto Route 111. Several homes had damage to their lawns.

Leppert continued driving northbound on Route 111, evading the police until she lost control of her vehicle, when she struck a telephone pole, then a tree, approximately 20 yards south of Route 347 at approximately 4:45 p.m. Leppert’s vehicle came to rest at the intersection of Route 111 and Veterans’ Memorial Highway.

Leppert, 22, of East Northport was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition.

The investigation is continuing.
