Man Dies After Crashing Into Home on Woodhull Road in Huntington

James A. Spillane was driving a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder westbound on Woodhull Road when his vehicle veered to the left and drove across a lawn located at 107 Woodhull Road before crashing into the northeast corner of the home at 11:38 p.m. on May 1, 2015.

Spillane, 49, of Syosset was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Preliminary investigation indicates Spillane may have suffered a medical emergency prior to his vehicle leaving the roadway.

There was minor damage to the home and no injuries to the residents.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
