Huntington FD Battles Building Fire

The Huntington Fire Department responded to a commercial building fire at 191 New York Avenue near Leverich Place, Tuesday night, May 26, at about 7:45 p.m.

Huntington Fire Department volunteers were assisted in battling the raging fire by the Centerport, Halesite and Huntington Manor fire departments. The Cold Spring Harbor and Greenlawn FD’s provided standby coverage for Huntington during the alarm. About 65 firefighters using eight trucks battled the blaze, under the command of Huntington Fire Chief Robert Berry. There were no injuries reported, and the Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Huntington Town Fire Marshal are investigating.
