Man Seriously Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash in Huntington Station

HCFASSuffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a man in Huntington Station on Thursday, August 28, 2015.

Giovanni Saccente, 50, of West Babylon, was driving a 1991 Mazda SUV southbound on New York Avenue in Huntington Station when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole north of Schwab Road at approximately 2:20 a.m.

Saccente was transported by Huntington Community First Aid Squad to Huntington Hospital and later transferred to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset with serious injuries.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
