Huntington Manor FD Rescues Driver from Crash

The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on Pidgeon Hill Road near Greenhills Road in South Huntington, Friday, November 6, 2015.  The driver of Nissan Altima had to be extricated after a collision with a Nissan Pathfinder at about 10:25 p.m. Huntington Manor firefighters used the “Jaws of Life” rescue tools to remove the driver’s side doors and B-post to free the victim.  Two heavy rescue trucks and an engine were on the scene with 25 firefighters, under the command of Chief Frank McQuade and Third Assistant Chief Chuck Brady.  The patient was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Pathfinder was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated by Suffolk Police.
