Chimney Fire in South Huntington Battled by Huntington Manor Fire Dept.

The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a house fire on Schubert Court off Old Country Road in South Huntington, Saturday, January 9, at about 8:25 p.m. First arriving units found the fireplace chimney involved in fire with extension to the attic. Huntington Manor firefighters aggressively battled the blaze which was brought under control within 15 minutes, minimizing damage to the home. Fifty firefighters were on the scene with six trucks, under the command of First Assistant Chief Mike DePasquale, with operations handled by Assistant Chiefs Jon Hoffmann and Chuck Brady. The Melville Fire Department assisted at the scene with a Rapid Intervention Team engine, while the Huntington Fire Department provided a standby engine at Huntington Manor headquarters. There were no injuries reported, and the Huntington Town Fire Marshal is investigating.
