McDonald’s On Jericho Has 2 Car Crash and Seriously Injured 89 Year Old Man

Suffolk County Police today May 2, 2016,  arrested a Huntington Station woman for driving while intoxicated following a crash that seriously injured an 89-year-old pedestrian this afternoon.

Daryl Richardson was driving a 2005 Toyota westbound on West Jericho Turnpike in Huntington at approximately 4:05 p.m. when she attempted to pull into the McDonald’s, located at 344 West Jericho Turnpike. Richardson made a left turn in front of an eastbound 2009 Chevrolet causing a collision. The Chevrolet veered off the roadway and struck 89-year-old Louis Anania of Dix Hills who was leaving the restaurant at the time of the incident.

Anania, who was temporarily pinned between the car and front of the building, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was treated for an open leg fracture and a broken clavicle.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Brian Davila, of Huntington Station, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Richardson, 56, of 317 West Route 25 Huntington Station, was transported to Huntington Hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. After an investigation, Second Squad detectives arrested Richardson and charged her with Driving While Intoxicated.

 

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
