Officers to meet with teens to promote good decision making

Suffolk County Police will hold its annual Police Week next week and will kick off the events specifically geared toward high school students at Police Headquarters in Yaphank on Monday, May 9.

Nearly 500 students from 10 high schools will hear firsthand from police officers the importance of making good decisions and will participate in a variety of scenarios where they will ask themselves, “What would I do?”  in situations pertaining to drug use, racing, vaping and  inappropriate texting. Students will review their choices and decisions with police officers.  Students will also have an opportunity to wear impairment goggles to highlight the dangers of distracted driving and driving under the influence.
