Crime Stoppers Need Help With Grand Larceny at Dicks Sporting Goods

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man who attempted to steal merchandise from a Melville sporting goods store.

On March 9, a man entered Dicks Sporting Goods, located at 870 Walt Whitman Road and attempted to steal in excess of $3400 worth of merchandise by concealing the items in an anti-security bag.

The man was described as being in his late 40s, 6 feet tall and 230 pounds.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
