Little Shelter of Huntington, today announced it has been awarded a $2,500 grant from the Petco Foundation to support its newly built Isolation Room.
Little Shelter is a nonprofit organization that rescues and rehabilitates unwanted animals from its local town shelters and places them into loving homes, serving Huntington and the surrounding communities. Since 1927, Little Shelter has placed thousands of unwanted animals into loving homes and has made a critical impact in the overpopulation crisis on Long Island.
The Petco Foundation investment will help in completing the Little Shelter Isolation Room. The isolation room will have areas for sick animals and newly arrived animals that need to be quarantine from the general population. It is crucial to have a protocol in place for intakes, vaccinations, quarantine and isolation.
“We are so grateful to The Petco Foundation for their ongoing support over the years, these grants are so important to Little Shelter and helping us with our mission,” says David Ceely, Executive Director.
