Plainview Man Killed in One-Car Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a one-car crash that killed a Plainview man Tuesday night October 18, 2016.

Eric Schneider was driving a 2016 Nissan Maxima westbound on Old Country Road near Old East Neck Road in Melville when he drove over a median and struck a guardrail at approximately 7:05 p.m.

Schneider, 50, of Plainview, was transported by Melville Rescue to Plainview Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Detectives believe Schneider may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash.

The Nissan was impounded for a safety check.
