Daughter Follows in Dad’s Footsteps

Emily Dearie, 23, of Centerport recently joined the Centerport Fire Department Rescue Squad. She was given the oath of office by her father, Ex-Chief Kevin Dearie who is a 33-year veteran of the department and served as Centerport Fire Chief in 2002. Kevin Dearie is an RN at St. Catherine’s Hospital, and Emily will be training as an EMT and is looking forward to attending nursing school to also become an RN.
