“Today, my colleagues and I in the State Assembly carried out the will of the people and passed legislation that would strip corrupt public officials of their taxpayer-funded pensions,” said Raia. “Any public official who chooses to use their position in power to break the law shouldn’t receive a dime from the hard-working people of New York. There is much work to be done if the Legislature is to restore the public’s trust in government, but today we took a crucial first step.”
