Councilwoman Tracey A. Edwards partners with Governor Andrew Cuomo to bring New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Program to Huntington

Huntington Town Councilwoman Tracey A. Edwards in partnership with Governor Andrew M. Cuomo invite you to participate in a New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Program. The presentation will be given by the Governor’s office, the Department of Homeland Security, The National Guard, NY State Fire and Police and Suffolk County Fire and Rescue Emergency Services.

This program will teach people to be better prepared in emergencies such as natural disasters, severe weather, hurricanes and any other life threating situations. It will give people the tools to protect themselves and their families in an emergency.  Participants will receive a free NYS Disaster Preparedness kit prepacked with emergency essentials.

“This is an important training for our residents. We all learned after Superstorm Sandy that we need to be as prepared as possible to protect ourselves, our families, our pets, and our property. This program will educate and prepare us for the worst case scenarios and I am excited to bring this to Huntington for our residents.” said Councilwoman Tracey A. Edwards.

The class will be held at Huntington Town Hall 100 Main Street, Wednesday April 12, 2017 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.  All participants must register in advance at www.prepare.ny.gov.
