Dix Hills Fire Department Responds to LIE Vehicle Fire

The Dix Hills Fire Department responded to a fully engulfed SUV fire on the Long Island Expressway, in the westbound lanes just west exit 52 Commack Road, on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at about 6:25 p.m. Three Dix Hills heavy rescue pumpers, an ambulance and paramedic unit responded, under the direction of Second Assistant Chief Joe Williamson. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and there were no injuries reported.
