Melville Fire Department Responds to Northern State Crash

The Melville Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on the westbound Northern State Parkway, west of Round Swamp Road on June 15, 2017 at about 6:25 a.m. One of the cars involved lost control and crashed off the road into a wooded area. Firefighters arrived to find a pregnant woman in the dirt next to the vehicle. She was aided by Melville Rescue Squad personnel and transported to Huntington Hospital in serious condition. Three ambulances, heavy rescue truck, paramedic and first responder units were on the scene, under the direction of Assistant Chief David Kaplan.
