SUFFOLK COVID-19 CASE UPDATE – April 9, 2020, 2:00 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 through 2:00 p.m. on April 9, 2020

  • 40,253 COVID-19 tests have been administered as of April 8
  • 3 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 20549 confirmed cases, at this time
  • Town breakdown can be found below.
  • 1,595 patients are hospitalized (up 10 from April 8),
  • 531 of hospitalized patients are in the intensive care unit, an increase of 14 patients from April 8 
  • 362 individuals have died, up 39 from 323 on April 8
  • There are presently 3,365 hospital beds and 750 ICU beds in Suffolk County
  • In the last 24 hours, 139 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital
