On May 25 2016, Second Precinct police officers responded to Clinton Avenue in Huntington at 3:17 a.m. after a 911 caller reported that a man was unconscious and covered in blood. When officers arrived, they found Edwin Rivera lying on the ground next to his 2015 Mercedes.

On Sunday Morning May 23, 2016 the Suffolk County police received a 911 call around 1:53 am from a residence on 3rd Street in Huntington Station that stated “they heard gun shots”.
