A Musical Portrait of James D’Aquisto Guitars

From his early days in Huntington to his “golden period” in Greenport, James D’Aquisto became known as the world’s greatest archtop guitar maker from the late 1960s until his passing in 1995. Honoring the D’Aquisto legacy, his guitars were featured in the 2011 Guitar Heroes exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Peter Rogine, renowned guitarist and Five Towns College professor, will discuss the life and work of this innovative guitar builder and perform jazz classics on D’Aquisto instruments. Several historical D’Aquisto guitars will be on view for the evening.
