DWI Arrest Made in Restaurant Crash

Restaurant Crash

A 2009 Ford SUV was traveling southbound on Walt Whitman Road in Melville when the driver rear-ended a 2015 Chevy that had a male driver and female passenger. The driver of the Ford, John Shepard, 59, of West Babylon continued to the intersection of Schwab Road and into the shopping center and through the window of Gourmet Wok.

There were two employees inside the restaurant and the time of the crash. There were no injuries to anyone in the vehicles or the restaurant.

The Town of Huntington Building Inspector was called to the scene and Melville FD responded as well.

Shepard, was arrested and charged with DWI. Shepard is being held at the Third Precinct and will be arraigned today at First District Court in Central.
