Facebook and other social media sites were buzzing with comments surrounding an event held March 3rd at the Paramount Theater on New York Avenue in Huntington Village.  According to eye witness reports and phone calls we received from neighboring local business owners, the event was a costly and dangerous situation for the local community.  This should have come as no surprise when one considers the event that was booked for Paramount that evening.  There is a new trend in wild partying called Barstool Blackout Tours (warning: images may be inappropriate for children).  In a nutshell, these parties are intended to be outrageous, over the top events for a young people to attend.  Their websites and blogs provide details.  The Paramount made the decision to introduce this event to the quaint local community of mom and pop businesses of Huntington Village and the results should have come as no surprise.

Local business owners, who asked not to be named, discussed the situation at length with Huntingtonian reporters.  According to their statements, the streets were filled with individuals who appeared to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.  Many of these individuals appeared to be minors.  The community first aid squad was on the scene more than once during the evening and several people were transported to and treated at Huntington Hospital.  We are in the process of confirming the exact number and the severity of the injuries.

According to the Barstool Blackout website the Paramount event was sold out.

  1. So, my tax dollars went to the police department and the Community First Aid Squad to babysit a bunch of drunks? Does the Paramount get the bill? I live 2 blocks away from the theater and this isn’t the first time there’s been issues. Drunken idiots wandering my neighborhood really makes me so happy.

  2. I just love cleaning up empty beer cans and bottles from my front lawn. What’s next, urinating on my trees? This is getting old really fast!

Brendan Amoruso its neither paramounts or barstools fault its Live Nations……. SOLUTIONS: make it 21+ or at least 19…. you dont need 16 year olds rolling for their first time/falling down stairs/regurgitating on each other/crying at 9pm. quinnipiac’s blackout worked out because all the kids there were of legal age…
