At 11:14 p.m., Second Precinct officers responded to a complaint that many teenagers were drinking alcohol at 25 Curtis Path. Police observed approximately 200-250 teenagers consuming alcohol. A multi-year, multi-million dollar plan to replace desktop computers and printers in every Huntington School District building, as well as in the central administrative offices is moving forward. Today, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association President Noel DiGerolamo announced agreement on a landmark 10-year contract. The deal, which would represent the first negotiated contract in more than 20 years, breaks the cynical cycle of arbitration and makes historic progress in saving hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars.

No doubt the traffic and parking situation in Huntington Village has exponentially worsened over the past few years. The situation is apparently so “out of hand” that a “Huntington Village Parking Consortium Group” was formed in order to examine the situation.

The Huntington Town Board approved a resolution, at the July 24th meeting, to try and eliminate invasive submerged aquatic vegetation in Hecksher Pond, located in Huntington Village. During the summer months the pond is choked with invasive plant species such as Hornwart, which severely impacts the ponds recreational usage and additionally impacts the aesthetic views that the pond provides.
