The Suffolk County Police Department today announced the promotion of two chiefs to fill positions recently vacated by division retirements.
 
Chief Mathew Lewis has been named Chief of Detectives and Chief Robert Waring has been named Chief of Operations, both three-star chief titles. The promotions take effect this Friday, July 16.
