The Huntington Fire Department responded to a fire at 45 Sabbath Day Path at approximately 12:10 pm on Monday June 11. There was no one home at the time. The cause of the fire was believed to be from the dryer. Huntington firefighters had the fire under control in a short period of time.

Many media outlets covering a press conference with new Police Commissioner Webber a few weeks ago stated “the ShotSpotter system detected gunfire 517 times in about three months”. One of those dailies went on to state Webber as saying” that’s more than five incidents a day in places like Huntington Station”

Approximately 12:10 pm on Wednesday May 23rd the police helicopter was heard in and around Park and Pulaski/Lenox Rd area by many residents. As someone who covers and investigates code enforcement and police activities, I knew there was something important going on.

Residents in the Commack School District voted to support the 2012-13 budget, by a vote of 2,977 to 1,723 on a budget of $171,344,680 an increase of $5,262,856 the second highest increase in our town. Dear Huntington School District Residents:
I’d like to express my sincerest thanks to the Huntington community for supporting the 2012-2013 school district budget. As a result of this support, we will maintain our ability to provide a high quality education for our students in a fiscally responsible manner. Additionally, as a result of community support for the capital proposition, we will be able to make needed improvements to buildings throughout the district with no effect on the tax rate.
